Waterways in our Communities.

  Spanning the world, millions of people, thousands of events, both vittual and in-person will mark the World Rivers Day 2025  on September 28th, in what has become one of the largest environmental celebrations on the planet. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event. With many of the World's rivers in a degraded state and facing increasing pressures associated with pollution , climate change and industrial development , more than 100 countries will participate in this year's activities. This year theme is  Waterways in our Communities . with an emphasis of protecting rivers that remains in an health state, while also striving to restore those that have been damaged in the past. Many event will also profile several sub-theme, such as the significant impact that climate change is having on many rivers, or the all-important link between the State of our rivers and the state of our oceans.
